Manages all payroll activities to ensure prompt and accurate payment. Manages payroll and time and attendance software. Understand and adhere to payroll policy and procedures to ensure proper application of the policies. Completes timely and accurate filing of statutorily mandated reports. Stay up-to-date on all filing requirements/changes each year (both federal and state). Oversee day-to-day operations of payroll accounting clerk. Performs monthly general ledger reconciliations and research discrepancies. Communicate actively with Human Resources to review cross-departmental impact and reconcile data sharing. Maintain organized and accurate files with proper documentation. Responsible for new employee orientation. Ability to communicate effectively with employees in regard to payroll checks. Assist Director of Accounting/Controller/CFO with special projects. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities High School diploma preferred with vocational or college related payroll courses. Minimum of five years’ experience in payroll. Proficient computer skills required. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. In-depth analytical skills required. WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION Business setting, comfortable conditions, indoors. Continuous concentration on detailed reports, calculation and procedures in a moderate stress environment with possibility of irregular hours upon request.
