About the role

We are hiring a hands-on, detail-driven HR professional to run the day-to-day execution of our core HR operations. This seat owns payroll, benefits, retirement plan support, and employment compliance, and functions as the operational partner employees and managers rely on. The person who does well here is accurate, accountable, and enjoys building efficient processes for an organization that keeps growing.

Responsibilities

  • Run payroll start to finish for both hourly and salaried populations, verifying that wages, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments are calculated and applied correctly
  • Act as the HRIS administrator and first stop for system questions and troubleshooting, keeping employee records clean and current through hires, exits, and job or pay changes
  • Work alongside Accounting on reconciliation, audit support, and payroll reporting
  • Manage medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental plans, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and the day-to-day employee benefit questions
  • Run annual open enrollment end to end, including configuring the system, and work directly with brokers and carriers to clear up eligibility and billing problems
  • Oversee leave programs, accommodation requests, return-to-work processes, and claim coordination among employees, managers, carriers, and third-party administrators
  • Make sure pay, benefit deductions, and leave-related compensation stay aligned while someone is out, and monitor usage and documentation against federal, state, and local leave law
  • Administer the 401(k) alongside the payroll provider, recordkeeper, and plan advisors, handling enrollments, contribution changes, loans, and distributions
  • Support annual retirement plan testing, required filings, and the plan audit, and field employee questions about the plan
  • Keep the organization compliant with employment law at the federal, state, and local level, including wage and hour, continuation coverage, and healthcare reporting requirements
  • Own work authorization verification, personnel files, and retention schedules, and pull documentation for audits, required reporting, and required notices
  • Work with HR leadership to keep policies current and to improve, document, and upgrade the processes and systems behind them
  • Serve as the person employees come to with pay and benefit questions, and run the HR side of onboarding and offboarding so transitions go smoothly
  • Take on projects as they come up, including system implementations, policy rollouts, and automation work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 5-7+ years in progressively responsible HR operations roles
  • Depth across payroll, benefits, leave, and 401(k) administration
  • Hands-on HRIS experience (Paylocity preferred), advanced Excel skills, and the technical aptitude to pick up new HR platforms, reporting tools, and integrations
  • Familiarity with U.S. employment law and multi-state compliance obligations
  • Precision with details and sound judgment handling confidential information
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Collaborative and service-oriented, with a habit of getting ahead of problems
  • Comfortable owning core HR processes and making them better

Benefits

  • A supportive, values-based environment where culture is taken seriously
  • A collaborative team that is engaged in the work and in each other
  • Room to grow professionally as the organization expands

Pay

$75,000 - $90,000 per year
