Payroll Coordinator
Office Location: Portage, MI (hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-time regular (40 hours per week; Monday–Friday)
Your Role at Walker
In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role requires a strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll regulations, and proficiency in payroll software.
Responsibilities
- Review timesheets and process payroll accurately for hourly and salaried employees
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including personal information, tax withholdings, deductions, and benefits
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and benefits
- Maintain payroll files and records in accordance with company policy and legal requirements
- Assist with payroll audits and reconciliations
- Utilize payroll software to process payroll and generate reports
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate payroll data
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in Payroll, Accounting, or Finance
- 1+ year of data entry experience preferred, ideally in payroll or accounting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Education: An associate’s degree is preferred.
Work Environment
This role typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings or training sessions. A hybrid schedule (2–3 days per week in the office) is available after initial training and onboarding.
