Payroll Coordinator
About the role
The Payroll Coordinator ensures the accurate and timely payment of employees; coordinating all activities associated with processing multi-state payroll on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities
- Processes multi-state payroll on a weekly basis
- Ensures that every employee is paid completely, accurately and according to all payroll laws and regulations
- Processes special request payments and off-cycle checks
- Completes onboarding of new hires, including Form I-9, and enters and maintains all employee information into payroll and other related systems
- Completes off-boarding of employees in compliance with relevant state law
- Processes wage garnishments, child support, levies, etc.
- SUBMIT INVOICES AND PAYMENT REQUESTS WITH ACCOUNTS PAID, AS NEEDED
- ASSISTS ACCOUNTING WITH THE PROCEDURE FOR UNCLAIMED CHECKS
- MAXIMIZES THE USE OF PAYROLL AND TIMEKEEPING SYSTEMS TO OPTIMIZE PERFORMANCE THROUGH WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF ALL ELEMENTS OF THE SYSTEM
- COMPLETES VERIFICATIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR CURRENT AND FORMER EMPLOYEES
- COMPLETES ANNUAL REQUIRED REPORTING TO VARIOUS GOVERNMENT ENTITIES
- COMPLETES INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL AUDIT REQUESTS
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience processing multi-state payroll and multi-state payroll taxes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to handling employee questions and issues promptly and professionally
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- The ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate effectively with peers
Skills
- Desirable Skills & Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience with UKG, Ultimate Software or Kronos
- Working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors FPC preferred but not required
- Experience with international payroll including LATAM and/or Canada
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
- Experience in benefits and/or Total Rewards
