Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
- Review employee timesheets, attendance records, and payroll documentation.
- Verify employee information, pay rates, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee payroll files.
- Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and pay statements.
- Process new hire information, payroll changes, and employment status updates.
- Coincide with Human Resources and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Aid with direct deposit setup and payroll distribution.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll and financial information.
- Ensure payroll activities comply with company policies and applicable employment and tax regulations.
- Identify and report payroll discrepancies or system issues promptly.
- Aid with year-end payroll reporting and payroll audits as required.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or finance is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage confidential information with professionalism.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work independently in a remote environment.
Technical Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Payroll software (such as ADP, Paychex, Workday, UKG, or similar).
- Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Timekeeping and attendance systems.
- Accounting software (preferred).
