About the role
The Payroll Clerk will work under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager. Key responsibilities include processing the weekly payroll cycle, preparing manual checks and direct deposits, tracking and verifying employee benefits, and generating payroll reports.
Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing & Administration
- Aid in processing the full weekly payroll cycle
- Prepare manual checks and direct deposits, including handling time-sensitive payroll adjustments for employee separations
- Serve as backup support for payroll and certified payroll processing
- Track, verify, and process missing hours, PTO and sick time, referral bonuses, per diem payments, and other specialty compensation
- Reporting & Compliance
- Process and properly code hours for certified payroll on customer platforms
- Aid in weekly payroll tax payments and 401(k) contributions
- Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll reports
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with payroll policies and regulations
- Employee Support
- Respond to payroll-related questions and requests while maintaining confidentiality
- Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll matters
- Absorb onboarding and payroll-related documentation
- Support document uploads and record maintenance in Spectrum
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience with Spectrum system from Viewpoint is highly preferred
- Experience processing certified payroll with LCPtracker and Elation preferred
- Working knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of payroll experience

Pay
$58,000 - $65,000 annually
