Payroll Clerk

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 356 hourly employees
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for public works projects
  • Process union payroll and complete required union reporting
  • Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule each week
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Support payroll operations across multiple branch locations
  • Aid the accounting department with accounts receivable overflow as needed
  • Utilize payroll and accounting software to maintain accurate employee records
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to resolve payroll questions and discrepancies
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by assisting with additional administrative or accounting tasks when needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of certified payroll experience
  • Hands-on experience with union payroll and union reporting
  • Construction industry experience required
  • Strong understanding of certified payroll reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a high-volume payroll environment
  • Friendly, approachable, and team-oriented personality
  • Flexible attitude with a willingness to assist wherever needed
  • Stable work history with demonstrated longevity in previous positions
  • Experience using Structure by CF Data Systems preferred
