About the Role
This position will assist the Payroll Manager in processing payroll and other payroll-related duties.
Responsibilities
- Maintains employee records.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
- Maintains current knowledge of HR/PR internal system Kronos/UKG Ready.
- Reinforces HR/PR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Reviews and verifies data processed by the Human Resources department.
- Inputs payroll data for new hires (tax forms, direct deposits, garnishments/child support, etc.).
- Reviews and adjusts timesheets for all workers (paid time off leave only as necessary).
- Accurately responds to employee inquiries in a timely manner.
- Facilitates employee understanding of payroll policies and procedures.
- Answers general day-to-day questions.
- Researches, resolves, and communicates payroll discrepancies.
- Assists with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
- Assists with gathering payroll information for audits.
- Provides various payroll reports upon request for internal customers and external agencies.
- Provides support to the Payroll Accountant.
- Adheres to internal controls, reporting structure, and related duties.
- Supports budget processes and analysis as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Skills
- Demonstrates expertise in use of Microsoft Office suite of applications, with a high level of Excel preferred.
- Professionalism dealing with confidential information and security measures around data.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Strong numeracy, analytical, and organizational skills.

Working Environment
Office setting.
Supervision
Direct supervision from Payroll Accountant and project direction from Controller. Accounting support and guidance from Senior Accountant and Controller.
