Payroll Associate
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll processing for union and prevailing wage construction projects. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 6 months of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience who is looking to grow their career in payroll.
Responsibilities
- Enter and review employee payroll information for accuracy
- Process employee timecards and track hours worked
- Support payroll processing for union employees and construction projects
- Maintain payroll records, employee files, and supporting documentation
- Assist with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage projects
- Review deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related information
- Respond to employee payroll questions and requests
- Assist with payroll audits and payroll record reconciliation
- Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities as needed
- Work within payroll systems such as ADP, SAP, or similar software
- Partner with the payroll team to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
Requirements
- 6+ months of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, or data entry experience
- Basic understanding of payroll processes preferred
- Experience working with Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Experience with ADP, SAP, or other payroll software is a plus
- Union payroll, prevailing wage, or certified payroll experience is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Pay
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.80/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday-Friday
- Hybrid schedule after training period
About the role
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmingdale, NY. The role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on payroll experience with growth potential within a stable payroll department. You will work in a collaborative and supportive team environment with exposure to payroll reporting, union payroll, and construction industry payroll processes.
