Payment Operations Lead

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Payment Operations Lead to join their team. This role focuses on operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Lead a Payment Operations team with clear priorities and operating standards
• Build and scale operational desks for various payment types (wires, ACH)
• Utilize payments expertise for operational decision-making regarding exceptions and risks
• Enhance operational efficiency through process improvements and automation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and identify bottlenecks
• Monitor key metrics for payment operations performance and quality
• Cultivate a team culture focused on ownership and quality of service

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in payments, banking, or related operations fields
• Deep knowledge of payment rails including international wires and ACH
• Experience leading and coaching an operations team for performance improvement
• Adept at process improvement and automation in operational contexts
• Understanding of regulatory environments and associated risk/quality balancing
• Strong communication skills for complex, cross-functional situations
• High ownership mindset for identifying and solving operational issues

Pay

$121,500 – $168,700 annually
