About the Role
Braswell & Son has been family owned since 1979, growing from one small jewelry store in Little Rock to eight stores across Arkansas and Tennessee. We're looking for a Pawnbroker to join our team. No pawn experience or jewelry background is needed—if you like people and show up ready to work, we will teach you the rest.
Responsibilities
- Greet every customer warmly and engage with them to understand their needs.
- Assess items brought in by customers—gold, diamonds, watches, designer bags, tools, electronics—and determine their value.
- Write pawn loans and explain terms clearly to ensure no confusion.
- Sell merchandise to customers who are excited to buy.
- Maintain the store, handle money responsibly, and safeguard merchandise.
- Assist customers with diverse needs, from engagement rings to covering unexpected expenses.
Why People Stay
- Competitive paycheck every Friday: hourly base pay, commission, and a weekly spiff for hitting targets.
- Predictable schedules posted in advance, with closures on major holidays.
- Ongoing training with a coach, a 90-day plan, and support for questions.
- Small, tight-knit teams where no one is left to figure things out alone.
- Opportunities for advancement—promotions to Lead, Assistant Manager, and Store Manager roles.
Qualifications
- 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to pass a background check that meets company and legal standards.
- Ability to stand and move for most of your shift, and lift up to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation).
- Comfortable learning computer and point-of-sale systems.
- Available for retail hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Spanish/English bilingual is a plus but not required.
