About the role

The Paving Project Manager oversees project coordination, material flow, and billing. Responsibilities include safety monitoring, subcontractor selection, and communication with clients and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with safety policies and monitors team safety practices.
  • Coordinates project schedules and material flow.
  • Consolidates and documents billing information.
  • Interprets and explains contracts and technical information.
  • Reports work progress and budget matters to clients.
  • Collaborates with general superintendents, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Selects subcontractors and coordinates their activities.
  • Responds to work delays, emergencies, and other issues.
  • Ensures compliance with legal requirements, safety codes, and regulations.
  • Provides leadership through example and sharing knowledge.
  • Participates in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Requirements

Associates or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, but other combinations of education or experience considered. Minimum 5 years of managing asphalt pavement construction job site production experience required. Must have current North Carolina Driver’s License.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction plans and designs.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information to groups and respond to questions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Prioritizes tasks, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, and manages multiple projects.
