Paving Foreman

About the role

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a Paving Foreman for its Southern Middle Tennessee operations based in Murfreesboro, TN. The role oversees and supervises asphalt paving crews on projects including commercial parking lots, city streets, county and state roadways, and interstate highways. A strong focus on safety excellence is required.

Responsibilities

• Enforce and abide by safety policies while completing quality work daily.
• Perform asphalt paving and stone set-up operations.
• Read plans and specifications (application rates, grades, slope, drainage, etc.).
• Complete jobs under budget and on time by setting clear expectations and providing crew feedback.
• Manage all aspects of operations including material ordering, logistics, maintenance, and outside services.
• Coordinate with other foremen, plants, crews, subs, and vendors in advance of shifts or projects.
• Ensure daily maintenance, housekeeping, and pre-trip inspections are completed and documented.
• Submit electronic timecards and shift production reports with accurate quantities and cost coding.
• Work nights and weekends based on customer demands.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a paving foreman with verifiable references.
• Knowledge of local customers, materials, and specifications is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work as a self-starter with limited supervision.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and inspectors while managing stress in changing environments.
• Proficiency with GPS grade and slope control.
• Asphalt paving experience required.
• Computer skills required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
