Paving Equipment Operators

Rogers Group seeks motivated, punctual, and safety-focused Asphalt Paving Equipment Operators with previous paving experience for our Virginia SMA operations in Staunton, VA.

About the role

Wages starting at $18.00/hr. Higher pay offered for experienced multi-craft maintenance professionals. Full-time, permanent position with rotating shifts (day/night). Weekend work may be required. Overtime available. Rogers Group will consider providing training for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site, or highway construction and paving.
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Supervisor.
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Follow directions from Supervisor as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary, and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• Work outdoors, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1-2 years of asphalt paving experience is preferred.
• Experience working with road construction in high traffic areas, including some experience with MUTCD traffic control.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
