Patient Visit Specialist - Gynecologic Oncology Livonia Campus

About the Role

The Patient Visit Specialist provides a high level of support and customer service for all patients and guests of the Cancer Center. Proactively coordinates the visit registration using all relevant systems and supports the patient visit through personalized attention to contact, check-in, check-out, and/or follow-up to ensure a positive experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as a point of contact for providers and staff with any patient scheduling questions or concerns.
• Obtain insurance verification and secure authorization required for services provided at the Cancer Center.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Schedule research patients per research protocol.
• Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
• Guide patients unfamiliar with the Cancer Center to their destination and provide a "warm hand-off" to staff.
• Work directly with providers to ensure proper coordination of care for each patient.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in a medical or physician office or comparable healthcare environment.
• Coursework in insurance/billing, medical practice education, or seminars preferred.
