Patient Transporter - UH Truman Medical Center (10:30a - 7p)

Patient Transporter position at University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Full time, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, visitors, specimens, and equipment throughout the hospital.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, providing a friendly and comforting presence.
• Greet and assist patients and visitors, offering support and a friendly smile.
• Respond in emergency situations, using your training to maintain smooth operations.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and staff to safely move patients and ensure their comfort.
• Follow verbal and written instructions to ensure efficient and safe transport.
• Complete training for oxygen transport, customer service, equipment maintenance, and Code Blue procedures.

Requirements

• Complete a recognized BLS (Basic Life Support) course and maintain certification.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, doctors, and staff.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance; assistance available for heavier lifting.
• Capability to be on your feet, walking and moving throughout the day.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a medical terminology course is a plus.
• Previous hospital experience, particularly in patient transport and equipment care.
