Patient Transporter, PRN
About the role
This position assists with surgery transport, maintains clear hallways, communicates with patients, families, and healthcare staff, and ensures the proper handling and delivery of medical equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Absorbs and responds to customer needs in a proactive, courteous, professional, and efficient manner.

- Maintains clear hallways by moving unused equipment to designated storage areas.
- Participates in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements
- High School Grad or Equivalent
- 1+ year public contact in a medical setting
- BLS CPR Certification
- Driver's License (optional)

- Communication Skills: Able to communicate in English using good diction, and respond to peoples needs in a pleasant and courteous manner as perceived by the customer, and as appropriate to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs. Must be proficient in the English language and able to read, write, and follow oral instructions.
- Physical ability to withstand frequent to prolonged walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and transferring patients.
- Excellent Customer Service skills.
- Ability to navigate to/from various locations throughout the facility.
- Problem solver that can think quickly in cases of emergencies or unusual situations.
- Ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace.
- Displays neat, professional appearance with a smile.
- Ability to quickly learn and use software packages and equipment relevant to the department.
- Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers, coworkers, clinicians, and other departments in meeting patient care standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all staff, patients, and physicians to ensure quality service and avoid delays in patient care.
- Ability to proficiently perform all care activities safely and in accordance with standards of care.
- Ability to follow patient identification/verification process prior to transporting all patients.
Skills
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)

Pay
$15.00 - $22.50 per hour
Schedule
PRN (Pier Diem) - Days (as needed), including Every Wednesday Varying days, consisting of 8-hour shifts when needed, requested, etc. The only regularly scheduled day is Wednesday** Please do not consider applying to this role if you are unable to commit to working an 8-hour shift every Wednesday
