Patient Transporter - Part Time - Day/Night
Job Summary

About the Role
Transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to and from various departments within the hospital setting. Provides patient services to the infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. Delivers specimens and supplies to and from Nursing Departments as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Promptly and courteously provides patient transport services between all nursing departments within established time frames. Including those departments that do not have coverage.
- Provides services as patients are discharged from nursing department when the volunteer and nursing staff is not available in a timely manner.
- Accurately records all department requests via Order Entry in Meditech according to established guidelines for patient transport.
- Delivers blood for the ICU.
- Performs late deliveries and errands when working evening shift.
- Transports oxygen tanks to the nursing units on the required schedule.
- Supports and mentors other transporters during their orientation process.
- Works cooperatively as a team to service the customers.
- Uses appropriate PPE when required for patient care or isolation patients.
Requirements
- Ability to interact effectively with patients, staff and the public.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
- Effective use of proper body mechanics when handling patients, supplies and equipment.
- Ability to safely operate patient care equipment such as beds, stretchers, wheelchairs and patient lifts.
- Ability to handle a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to keep patient and employee information confidential.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Current CPR certification of certification achieved during orientation.

Pay
Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable. Hourly range: $17.51 - $18.36
