Patient Transporter
Job Summary
Transports patients and equipment throughout the Hospitals and Clinics.
Job Duties
- Transports patients, belongings and deceased to and from assigned departments.
- Assists floor staff to ready patients for transport.
- Transports specific patient related equipment and beds to requesting departments.
- Utilizes technology system for various equipment deliveries.
- Enters rental equipment into the appropriate software when needed.
- Assists with wheelchair management by identifying those for cleaning and repair.
- Transports wheelchairs to Central Sterile for cleaning and to ISS for repairs.
- Maintains wheelchair availability in assigned staging locations.
- Receive assignments by calling into the Transport Tracker XT Program for movement of Patients and Equipment.
- Properly identifies patient prior to transport and assures that patient has an identification.
- Assists patients in and out of vehicles and transport equipment.
- Interacts with patients in a professional manner, avoiding idle conversation that excludes the patient.
- Collaborates with other healthcare team members to facilitate patient care and services.
- Maintains eye contact, acknowledges and greets patient, and communicates the transport destination to the patient.

Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) - (Required)
