Job Description

Provide transportation of patients, visitors, belongings, and equipment throughout the hospital including to physicians’ offices in order to ensure timely arrival.

  • Under the direction of the Manager, provides transportation of patients.
  • Refer to log and determine method of transportation needed and follow through.
  • Upon telephone request, deliver or pick up patients in a prompt courteous manner.
  • Aid clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds or chairs or stretchers.
  • Responsible for hourly medical trip.
  • Report to all assigned areas in Nursing Departments in order to deliver/pick up inpatient or outpatient needs (specimens, cultures, bloods, non-narcotic meds, pharmacy requisitions, etc.).
  • Responds to all stat requests from OR and Nursing Units within ten (10) minutes (stat bloods, cultures, oncology requests).
  • Responsible for the mail throughout the Hospital.
  • Sort all mail and file according to department.
  • Responsible for flower, fruit basket and package delivery for patients and Hospital employees.
  • Responsible for all requests from General Stores, Equipment Room, and Radiology at specified times.
  • Responsibilities include stocking and cleaning the precaution carts on the nursing units.
  • Stocks precaution carts daily.
  • Cleans precaution carts every weekend.

Education

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Heart Saver certification required within 60 days of hire date from American Heart Association or Red Cross

Minimum Experience

  • 0-1 year of experience

Pay Range

$17.00 – $22.88
