Responsibilities
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Performs all duties following continuous quality improvement principles and observes the principles of a high-reliability organization.
- Provides a quality service, performs to quality standards, and meets customer and company metrics.
- Picks up, cleans, and processes all equipment, preparing it for patient-ready use, following all manufacturer and hospital protocols.
- Provides efficient transportation of the patients, including assistance with transfer to and from bed, wheelchair, stretcher-chair, or stretcher, and positioning.
- Affords assistance with ambulation to and from wheelchairs and with positioning.
- Transports patients to the requested destination without assistance.
- Uses appropriate equipment to transfer and transport.
- Obtains Ticket to Ride and confirms patient condition with clinical staff before departure.
- Ensures appropriate distribution of patient transportation equipment.
- Maintains allotted equipment levels per unit.
- Recognizes equipment needing repair, labels it properly, and delivers it to plant operations.
- Retrieves and delivers patient equipment (telemetry monitor pack, IV pumps).
- Observes patients’ condition for signs, symptoms, and unusual occurrences.
- Able to recognize and act during an emergency.
- Ensures patient safety by observing patients frequently and taking necessary safety precautions.
- Secures patient in a wheelchair, stretcher-chair, stretcher, or bed.
- Identifies appropriate attachment of medical equipment to a wheelchair, stretcher-chair, stretcher, or bed.
Qualifications
- Required: Six (6) months of customer service experience.
- Preferred: Previous experience in an acute care facility.

- SALARY RANGE: 16.57 - 24.86
