Patient Transport/Lift Team Specialist
Overview
The Patient Transport & Lift Team Specialist performs patient transports, transfers, lifts and repositions using the appropriate patient lifting equipment and safe patient handling policies and procedures. They also pick up and deliver inpatients and patient care items between patient care units and other ancillary departments. This role requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Additionally, they are responsible for the maintenance and inventory of patient lifting equipment and maintaining proper hygiene of the slings and lifting/transportation equipment on each unit. They may also assist with employee education and training of patient lifting equipment and transfer techniques when indicated.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be 18 years old to be considered for position.
- Basic understanding of communication equipment such as pagers, phones and computers.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification preferred.
Pay
Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. The expected pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour.
