Patient Transport - Full Time, Evening/Mid (Culver City)

About the Role

The Transporter/Courier transports patients, equipment, supplies, and other items throughout the hospital in a safe and timely manner. Assists in the mobilization and transport of patients and visitors to their destinations within the hospital and upon discharge. Follows all patient and visitor protocols, ensuring requests for information and services are accurately and sensitively responded to, with attention to emotional circumstances and privacy needs. Maintains cleanliness of patient equipment.

Responsibilities

• Patient Transportation: Transports patients, equipment, supplies, and other items throughout the hospital safely and promptly. Complies with infection control measures and ensures patient privacy and dignity. Uses appropriate body mechanics.
• Communication: Demonstrates excellent customer service, engages in caring behaviors, and uses independent judgment and decision-making. Actively participates in work activities with a proactive and thoughtful approach.
• Equipment Management: Ensures equipment is in proper working order, cleans and disinfects as required, and maintains inventory and records. Delivers, retrieves, and properly stores equipment, keeping work areas clean and organized.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Previous patient transport experience.

Pay

Pay Rate: $22.00 – $29.56 per hour.
