Patient Transport Dispatcher-Casual Evenings
This is a casual (non-benefited) position located at Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital. This role does not have guaranteed hours and is to help support staffing coverage for PTO, sick call-ins, and other scheduling needs for the department.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and assigns patient transport according to request through the use of Epic.
- Sets priorities of patients transported according to predetermined departmental policy.
- Informs ancillary area/nursing units of any delay in service.
- Verifies information on request for accuracy prior to distribution to patient transporter.
- Schedules breaks and lunch for patient transporters according to patient volumes.
- Immediately reports to Manager any problems with patient transporters or undue delays in transporting patients.
- Upon request, coordinates area function in absence of Resource Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or acceptable equivalent.
