Patient Transport Aide
Location & Schedule
- Location: Backus Hospital (10309)
- Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, alternate weekends and holidays
About the Role
Since 1893, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities.
Responsibilities
- Responds to transport requests with a sense of urgency
- Ensures oxygen tanks are not empty and have enough oxygen for entire transport
- Ensures the comfort of the patient throughout entire request by being attentive; offers blankets, checks modesty, and only engages in appropriate conversation involving the patient
