Patient Services Specialist for Pulmonary in SW Beaverton (Registration)

By providing patients and internal and external stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience, you’ll help ensure that patients receive the highest value care tailored to their needs. This is a phone-based role focused on excellent customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Check in and out new/established patients.
- Promote efficient physician scheduling and patient access by properly scheduling and rescheduling patients' appointments according to all office protocols and physician requests in an efficient and timely manner.
- Obtain and complete insurance information.
- Answer phones on a multi-line system.
- Manage inbound referrals.
- Update registration and EMR records as needed.
- Perform additional administrative and support tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous medical front office experience is strongly preferred. Specialty care experience is a plus.
- Minimum of one (1) year of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) EPIC experience is required.
- Previous experience in Surgery or other complex scheduling is preferred.
- Prior experience with healthcare insurance and/or authorization is preferred.
- Prior experience with insurance and referral processes is required.
- Strong customer service skills and phone experience are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
- Excellent attendance and work ethic.
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
- Commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
Pay
Hiring range, based on experience and credentials:
- Level I: $19.59 - $26.51 per hour.
- Level II: $21.55 - $29.16 per hour.
- Level III: $23.71 - $32.07 per hour.
Schedule
This role is located at The Oregon Clinic Creekside Pavilion. Hybrid/Remote work is available once training is completed and expectations are met. Must live in Portland or SW Washington. Typical work hours are Monday–Friday (8:00 am–4:30 pm).
