Schedule

Schedule: Mon-Wed 4:00 pm-8:00 pm; Sat 8:00 am-12:00 pm.

Role Overview and Purpose

As a Patient Services Representative (PSR), your primary roles are to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare by supporting clinics with front office tasks. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Directing incoming calls to ensure they are transferred to the appropriate contact within the clinic
  • Assisting patients with scheduling and re-scheduling healthcare appointments
  • Impact patient experience by demonstrating courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracy
  • Supporting provider and team by generating daily lists of scheduled appointments, sharing accountability for overall patient health outcomes, and working in coordination with care teams
  • Operating to instill confidence in our care and facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholders
  • Managing clinical administration tasks such as scheduling appointments, entering data into electronic scheduler, tracking and recording appointments, preparing patient charts, verifying appointments and arrival time, receiving and recording patient payments, and ensuring patient records are up to date and accurate

Education/Experience

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) requires a high school diploma/GED and one year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Experience working with electronic medical records and multi-phone lines is preferred, as is bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.

Additional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

To succeed in this role, you should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing, and proofreading abilities. You must also have knowledge of and experience with customer service etiquette and protocols, as well as the ability to interact effectively with clinic personnel, patients, and diverse populations. Excellent planning and organizational skills are essential, as are the ability to use computer programs, work as part of a team, and handle highly confidential information professionally and ethically.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift/carry 20 lbs/weight and stand for long periods of time.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $22.88 - $32.03 per hour, depending on experience.
