About the role
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) is the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, supportive clinic experience. This position supports the clinical care team through excellent customer service, accurate scheduling, and efficient administrative operations.
Responsibilities
- Patient Greeting — Welcome and direct patients and visitors with professionalism.
- Customer Service — Resolve issues promptly and maintain a positive patient experience.
- Scheduling & EMR Updates — Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
- Outreach — Complete reminder calls, emails, and other outreach tasks.
- Phone Management — Answer high-volume, multi-line calls using urgent/emergent protocols.
- Insurance Verification — Verify eligibility, collect copays, and coordinate with insurers.
- Payment Collection — Process payments at time of service.
- Administrative Support — Perform general office duties and maintain supply inventory.
Requirements

- High school diploma or GED
- 2–3 years healthcare front office experience required
- Strong customer service background
- Multi-line phone system experience
- Intermediate computer skills; 45+ WPM typing
- Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA
- Athena or other EMR experience
