Responsibilities

  • Answers phone in prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, screening, and routing calls as needed
  • Creates phone notes in the patient electronic medical record, and/or provides information to patients
  • Affords assistance in indexing patient documents to the correct patient chart
  • Affords assistance in routing electronic faxes to the correct location fax folder and/or uploading to the correct patient chart
  • Performs other duties as needed during down time
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer/patient service
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of computer programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understand/Perform training on practice management software
  • Expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
  • Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or GED
  • Preferred experience: At least one year of medical office experience
  • One year using an EMR with ModMed experience preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Basic phone handling skills - Contact Center experience
  • Basic knowledge of insurance plans and the specialty referral process
