About the role

A Patient Service Representative who excels in this role:

  • Utilizes excellent customer service skills at all times
  • Works with other laboratory personnel to resolve problems with laboratory client samples, and communicates resolutions to clients
  • Functions as liaison with clients to disseminate test information, answer inquiries and troubleshoot problems
  • Performs clerical and customer service duties using electronic equipment and hospital/laboratory computer systems
  • Aids with client billing. Communicates price changes to clients
  • Aids with performance improvement initiatives pertaining to customer service, including data collection and communication with laboratory leadership team
  • Aids with orientation and training of personnel and students
  • Participates and attends meetings as required and/or assigned
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • 1 year laboratory experience (Preferred)
  • 1 year customer service experience (Preferred)

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Required. Associates Degree preferred

Skills

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
