Patient Services Representative Associate

Job Summary

Aid and educate patients, providers, medical office staff, and/or Health system staff with accessing services, resolve issues, and answer navigation questions. Maintain an exceptional experience with each contact, via various communication channels. Adhere to established procedures and guidelines while upholding Corewell Health's values and standards.

Essential Functions

• Serve as a concierge, greeting and communicating with patients or visitors.
• Perform clerical tasks such as answering calls, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, generating letters, sorting mail, processing registrations, and uploading documents into EPIC.
• Identify and remind patients of health maintenance needs.
• Document patient interactions in the EHR for call routing and resolution.
• Assist with patient registration and check-in, confirming demographic and insurance information.
• Handle patient check-out, scheduling follow-up appointments, or confirming future appointments.
• Maintain patient medical records according to standards.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete required safety-related competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 1 year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or similar fields.
