About the role

This position provides front office support for the Sleep Clinic patient population at UCD Health.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of Medical Office Services (50%)
  • Additional Job Functions (50%)

Requirements

  • High School / GED equivalent or related work experience
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to efficiently use computer system applications
  • Bookkeeping skills to maintain accurate records of patient financial transactions
  • Organizing skills to establish priorities for own work
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures
  • Filing skills to maintain logs and files of information

Qualifications

  • License and/or certification if required of the position
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all co-workers
  • Patience, courtesy, and professionalism, both in person and on the telephone
  • Effective response to individuals who may be angry or upset
  • Knowledge of health care insurance systems
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding

Skills

  • Computer system applications (e.g. scheduling, template maintenance, maintenance of demographic and insurance information)
  • Typing skills sufficient to use computer keyboard for timely and accurate input and production
  • Writing skills, using proper English grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Bookkeeping skills sufficient to maintain accurate records of patient financial transaction
  • Filing skills to maintain logs and files of information
  • Knowledge of all pertinent laws, regulations, and guidelines governing medical records
  • Knowledge of health care insurance systems
  • Knowledge of medical office procedures
