Patient Services Rep/SPECIMEN COLLECTOR

Job Details

This position involves collecting specimens according to established procedures, which may include drug screens and oral swabs. Duties also include confirming and verifying test/client information, entering billing information, and performing various clerical tasks.

• Research and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
• Complete data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test order entry.
• Enter billing information and collect payments, ensuring the safeguarding of assets and credit card information.
• Data entry and processing of specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test order.
• Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, and answering phones when needed.
• Comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures, including maintaining appropriate logs and verifying patient demographic information.
• Stay updated with the latest phlebotomy techniques and company communications.
