Patient Services Rep-Contact Center (Per Diem-Temporary)

Primary Duties
- Creates initial and follow up in-person and virtual visit appointments
- Reschedules, cancels, and manages self-scheduled appointments
- Requests, confirms, and validates interpreter services
- Sets up and verifies active and contracted insurance coverage
- Marks the benefits of the patient portal and assists with enrollment
- Manages multi-line telephone system
- Identifies and directs patients with emergent/urgent symptoms to appropriate clinical staff
- Coordinates emergent or add-on patient care requests
- Manages message queues and responds promptly to pending requests
- Prepares and sends letters, portal messages, or phone calls to communicate patient information
License, Certification, Education or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a customer service role
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Problem solving and stress management abilities
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Active listening and de-escalation techniques
- Basic medical terminology and insurance knowledge
- Experience with EMR systems, especially Epic
- Familiarity with HIPAA and health industry compliance
