Patient Services Rep
Location: Barnabas Health Medical Group, 475 Route 70, Lakewood, NJ 08701
Status: Full-Time, Hourly | Shift: Day (Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–5:00pm; Friday 7:30am–4:00pm; hours subject to change based on practice needs)
Pay Range: $21.07 – $26.22 per hour (compensation depends on candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience)

As a Patient Service Representative (PSR), you will be a key member of the practice team, partnering with physicians, managers, and support staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience and ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and perform patient check-in and check-out functions with professionalism and compassion.
- Prepare for patient visits by reviewing schedules and ensuring all necessary information is available.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits as needed.
- Answer routine questions in person and over the telephone while providing exceptional customer service.
- Perform clerical responsibilities including copying, scanning, faxing, sorting, and distributing mail.
- Create, maintain, file, and organize patient health record information.
- Coordinate with insurance providers and handle pre-authorizations and certifications as necessary.
- Protect patient privacy and contribute to a safe, efficient, and welcoming practice environment.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and relevant experience and/or training. Candidates must demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of patient satisfaction and safety and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous medical receptionist or general office experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
