Patient Services Coordinator (Part Time, Weekends)

Overview

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Virginia, is seeking a part time Patient Services Coordinator to join their Radiology Department. This position includes rotating weekend coverage and offers the opportunity to support patient care through exceptional coordination and customer service in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Work Shift

• Part Time
• Rotating Weekends
• Saturday: 2:30pm-11pm
• Sunday: 6am-6:30pm

Purpose

Maintains statistics and acts as liaison between clinical testing sites and offices to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization.

Responsibilities

• Develops care plans and coordinates patient care services
• Consults with healthcare providers and evaluates patient progress
• Aids in securing funding for medical care
• Coordinates activities for specific practices, including insurance verification/obtaining pre-certification, scheduling, pre-registration, and order transmission

Requirements

• High School Grad or Equivalent
• Previous healthcare experience

Preferred Skills

• Two years experience in a healthcare environment
• Completion of a healthcare related certificate program
• Associate's Degree or higher
• Transferable skills such as 1 year or more in a call center, customer service position, etc

About the Role

Sentara CarePlex Hospital, located in Hampton, VA, is a 224-bed technologically advanced, acute care facility, and Certified Primary Stroke Center. Other features include specialized services in heart and vascular, urologic care, along with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, a hospitalist program, and one of the state's busiest emergency departments. We are also home to the Orthopedic Hospital at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, the area's first dedicated orthopedic hospital.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following qualifications:

• High School Grad or Equivalent
• Previous healthcare experience
• Two of the following skill levels are strongly preferred:
• Two years experience in a healthcare environment
• Completion of a healthcare related certificate program
• Associate's Degree or higher
• Transferable skills such as 1 year or more in a call center, customer service position, etc
