Patient Services Coordinator IV
About the role
The PSC IV Referral Coordinator plays a key role in supporting our Plastic Surgery team by ensuring seamless coordination of patient referrals, surgery scheduling, and prior authorizations. This position is responsible for managing complex workflows, obtaining insurance approvals, and collaborating closely with providers, patients, and external partners to deliver a smooth and timely surgical experience.
Responsibilities
- Processing referrals and performing Dimensions super-user functions such as practice support with EPIC or working the miscellaneous work queues.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 3 years of experience in medical office setting required.
- Licensure: None
Other related experience
- May be considered in lieu of medical office experience.
Additional Skills/Requirements
- Knowledge of medical office software for updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling patient appointments.
- Understanding of CPT and ICD9-CM coding processes.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.

Basic medical terminology
- Required, can be obtained through formal classes or work experience.
Multiple payors billing requirements
- Familiarity of coding requirements for practice specialty.

- Proficient in the use of all computer software utilized in the practice.

- Constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping.
- Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
- Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.
Compensation Range
The base compensation range for this role is $16.52 - $23.39 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
