About the role
The Patient Services Coordinator acts as medical administrative support staff for Damar Health Services. This position oversees the scheduling and follow-up of medical appointments, coordinates and schedules medical appointments, performs medical billing and coding, and provides multidisciplinary support.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of scheduling and follow-up of medical appointments
- Congnitive coordination and scheduling of medical appointments
- Medical billing and coding for Damar Medical Services providers
- Processing of medical records requests as needed
- Preparation of information for patient visits
- Contacting patients for reminders of required information
- Updating patient demographics and verifying insurance coverage
- Collecting insurance co-payments and previous balances
- Checking patients in to clinic, including filling out forms and entering information into EMR
- Answering phones to schedule patients, answer questions, and send messages to providers
- Managing and routing incoming faxes and patient emails
- Providing multidisciplinary support
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in a medical setting preferred
- Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements
- Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record meeting eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
- No felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect, or other disqualifying criminal convictions
- Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
