Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of front desk activities supporting the practice and professional staff.
  • Register patients and complete patient check-in and check-out.
  • Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Answer and route incoming telephone calls while taking accurate messages.
  • Schedule patient appointments and assist with appointment-related inquiries as needed.
  • Verify, update, and maintain patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Scan, upload, and maintain patient documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Support billing, insurance verification, and other front office administrative functions as directed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Follow established office procedures and safe visit protocols.
  • Collaborate with providers and office staff to ensure efficient workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience into front desk or patient representative.
  • Previous experience in a geriatrics or specialty physician practice.
  • Experience verifying insurance benefits.
  • Experience working with high patient volumes.

Skills

  • Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system required.
  • Athena EMR experience strongly preferred.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel) preferred.
  • Excellent patient/customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office.
  • Ability to manage multiple phone lines while assisting patients at the front desk.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.

About the Role

Initial Teams interview followed by an in-person interview, if needed.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
