Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide patient support services, including answering phones, directing calls, greeting patients/visitors, and maintaining patient medical records via EMR or paper charts.
  • Assist with patient scheduling, office functions, and handling patient payments as applicable.
  • For Lead positions: assist management in leading day-to-day operations.
  • Greet and register patients, update demographics and insurance coverage in the computer system.
  • Answer patient calls, relay messages, respond to inquiries, and communicate with referring physician offices.
  • Perform check-out processes, including co-pay collections, scheduling return visits, providing after-visit summaries, and ensuring follow-up tests are ordered or scheduled.
  • Document activities and monitor patient wait times, notifying appropriate parties of excessive delays.
  • Manage incoming mail, distribute correspondence, reports, and office supplies, and mail form letters.
  • Track and record patient information or program data as required.
  • Request and handle referrals and medical records for new patient appointments.
  • Schedule appointments when directed.
  • Maintain cash drawer, reconcile daily cash, and prepare bank deposits where assigned.
  • Complete paperwork to facilitate and track deposits.
  • Contact insurance companies to obtain registration or procedural pre-certifications as required.
  • Use job-related software and systems to perform functions.
  • Travel to other clinical facilities to accommodate staffing levels as needed.
  • Demonstrate attendance, promptness, professionalism, attention to detail, cooperativeness, and courtesy to coworkers, supervisors, customers, vendors, and patients.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • Skill in problem-solving and managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to convey information clearly in writing and verbally.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations while providing exceptional customer service.

Pay

USD $16.93 - USD $25.39 per hour.
