About the Role
Provides service to patients either pre-appointment, during, or post-appointment with occasional guidance. Responsibilities may include inbound/outbound telephone calls, cash management, appointment scheduling, insurance updates, and patient check-in/out. Navigates complex patient needs, including scheduling with multiple services or coordination with outside facilities or providers.
Responsibilities
- Conducts patient check-in and check-out.
- Coordinates follow-up appointments or procedures required for patients.
- Schedules appointments, procedures, or surgeries through clinical communication or direct request.
- Provides a positive first impression utilizing customer service skills.
- Works with patients and/or outside facilities to ensure all administrative tasks—including referrals, pre-certs, clinical records, documentation, orders, and consults—are received and ready prior to patient visits.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Technical Capabilities
- Surgery Scheduling (Fundamental Awareness): Ability to coordinate and schedule surgeries within hospital computer systems.

- Patient Scheduling (Novice): Ability to coordinate and schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and office visits.
- Patient Documentation (Novice): Ability to receive and record patient information.
- Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Ability to comprehend medical terminology and documentation in office or surgical settings.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of relevant work experience.
