Patient Service Specialist
Description
Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out.
Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team.
Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.
Prepare patient intake forms prior to appointments to ensure timely service.
Verify insurance eligibility of patients to determine if services are covered, and obtain authorizations as needed.
Provide counseling to patients advising them of their financial responsibility at time of service.
Achieve quality assurance goals.
Adhere to the established system of controls to secure and reconcile payments received.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Patient-centered mindset: Strong customer service skills
- Proven ability to work with and navigate a computer desktop efficiently (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts receivable principles including basic math skills
- Proficient in the use of all necessary office equipment, faxes, copiers, etc.
- Fluent typing skills (minimum 40 words per minute) and proficiency with Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
About the Role
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wells, ME.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
