About the role
As a Patient Service Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients have an exceptional experience at our outpatient physical therapy center. You will manage both the patient side and the business side of our center, starting from greeting and registering patients to scheduling appointments and managing insurance verifications.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register patients and provide information about their visit and next appointment
- Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
- Communicate with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies, and translation services
- Manage co-pays from patients and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One year of front desk experience
- One year of medical office experience
- Preferred qualifications include management experience (team of 3+), insurance verification experience, and bilingual (English/Spanish speaking)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach throughout a work day/shift
- Manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10-key)
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics
- Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written direction
- Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions
