Patient Service Specialist

About the role

As a Patient Service Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients have an exceptional experience at our outpatient physical therapy center. This includes greeting and registering patients, providing information about their visits and next appointments, scheduling appointments, communicating with various parties, collecting co-pays, managing payer approvals, and conducting insurance verifications.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about their visit and next appointment
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Communicate with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies, and translation services
• Manage payer approvals and conduct insurance verifications
• Collect co-pays from patients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• One year of medical office experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach throughout a work day/shift
• Manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10-key)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics
• Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written direction
• Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions
