Responsibilities

  • Check in patients for appointments
  • Collect patient co-pays
  • Answer telephones and take accurate messages
  • Schedule appointments
  • Check insurance eligibility
  • Use EPIC to update required information
  • Communicate with patients and families
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Utilize independent decision-making skills

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred

Pay

This Full-Time position pays according to Saint Alphonsus Health System's pay scale.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (or similar).

Position Details

This position supports our rehabilitative services (PT, OT, and SLP) providers and is located at 3875 E Overland Rd, Meridian, ID 83642.

Additional Duties

  • Acknowledge and greet patients immediately
  • Register patients for appointments and complete paperwork
  • Verify and update existing patient and insurance information
  • Keep patient appointments on schedule
  • Inform patients of delays and explain the anticipated wait time
  • Collect and communicate patients' responsible balances for visits, diagnostic testing, supplies, etc.
  • Assist patients with financial assistance paperwork
  • Control credit extended to patients via a payment plan
  • Maintain business office inventory and equipment
  • Order supplies
  • Maintain a neat work area including the reception area
  • Follow Cash Control Policy and Procedure and balance daily financial activities
