Patient Service Representative (Sanford Cardiology)

About the role

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is a locally owned and managed healthcare provider serving communities in Moore County, Lee County, Cumberland County, Chatham County, and the surrounding six counties. PMC offers a broad range of primary and specialty care services, committed to patient-centered care led by physicians utilizing the latest medical technology.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff by greeting, instructing, and directing patients and visitors.
• Enter all patient demographics, insurance information, and collect payments upon check-in/out or when scheduling an appointment.
• Schedule patient appointments for both established and new patients.
• Check in patients, verify and update necessary information, and acknowledge patients upon check-out.
• Inform patients about financial obligations such as co-payments, deductibles, and insurance eligibility.
• Maintain the lobby in a neat and orderly manner, including keeping magazines current.
• Coordinate physicians' schedules, ensuring a thorough understanding of specialties and practices.
• Answer telephones and return calls promptly, handle requests, and provide accurate information.
• Manage mail, paperwork via fax, and medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to PMC's mission by providing high-quality care to patients and the communities served.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• One to three months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to two years experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to two years experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Pay

The pay rate is hourly (non-exempt).

Schedule

The shift is a Day Shift (Monday through Friday), with no weekends or holidays.
