Job Description Find your calling at Mercy! The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The PSR ensures that the patient experience is positive and seamless by managing front desk operations and workflows. Position Details Patient Service Representative - Mercy Clinic Gastroenterology Location: 10012 Kennerly Road, Suite 102, St. Louis, MO 63128 Schedule: Full Time | 40 Hours/Week | Mon-Fri | 7:30am -4pm or 8am -4:30pm Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: Customer service experience preferred Responsibilities Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑outAnswer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handlingSchedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith EstimatesMonitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flowMaintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queuesHandle patient concerns professionally and escalate as neededManage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plansSupport EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communicationsMaintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policiesPerform other duties as assigned Skills, Knowledge And Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and billing processesClear and professional verbal and written communication skillsBasic computer skills, including accurate data entryStrong customer service skills with a patient‑focused approachHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy policiesAdaptable, professional, and able to work well under pressureEffective problem‑solving and issue resolution skills Mercy Key Benefits Tuition Reimbursement up to $2,000 for continuing education after 12 months Health/Dental/Vision available after day one Annual contribution of $100 per month to eligible co-workers enrolled in the Dependent Care FSA Paid parental leave for new parents 401k with employer match Paid PTO for volunteering Competitive salary Future career growth!
