Patient Service Representative II, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine

About the role

This position serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the medical facility. Duties include greeting and checking in patients, verifying information, scheduling appointments, updating the Electronic Health Record (EHR), facilitating intake procedures such as completing healthcare and insurance forms, and collecting payments for services.

Responsibilities

- Greets and checks-in patients. - Verifies information and schedules appointments. - Updates the Electronic Health Record (EHR). - Facilitates intake procedures, including completion of healthcare and insurance forms and collecting payments. - Communicates effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers. - Adheres to organizational, local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. - Performs specific tasks and/or orient other staff to the department as needed.

Requirements

- Equivalent experience in lieu of required degree or diploma. - HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience. - 1 year of recent relevant experience.

Qualifications

- Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, patient billing. - Ability to interpret data and instructions, communicate effectively. - Well-developed time management and organizational skills. - Familiarity with computer applications like Microsoft Office Suite. - Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures. - Ensure privacy of patient's Protected Health Information (PHI). - Build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members.

Pay

The compensation range is $30.34 to $37.92 per hour. The base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also receive a comprehensive benefits package.
