About the Role

As a Patient Service Representative, you are responsible for organizing and performing all business office functions related to daily operation within the Medical Practice. Functions include receiving patients, assessing their needs and acting accordingly to ensure patients are provided with access to appropriate health care providers and ancillary services. You will carry out duties to meet patient needs such as scheduling, record maintenance, facilitating orders, answering telephones, retrieving test results, and more. Additionally, you will provide clerical support for medical office personnel.

Responsibilities

• Organize and perform business office functions related to daily operations in the medical practice.
• Receive patients and assess their needs to ensure access to appropriate healthcare providers and services.
• Schedule appointments and maintain patient records.
• Facilitate orders, answer telephones, and retrieve test results.
• Provide clerical support for medical office personnel.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of past physician office experience preferred.
• Typing and computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association within the first year of hire in position required.
• Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements of third-party payors such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Blue Shield preferred.
