Opportunity

Full-time opening
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
No nights, weekends, or holidays
Outpatient clinical practice

Who We Are Seeking

• Highly visible interactions with patients
• Positive office image projected at all times
• Smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm
• Maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions
• Formal training indicating a high school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of different types of health insurance plans (HMO’s, PPO’s, etc.)
• PC/Windows proficiency
• Medical coding familiarity
• Willingness to prioritize patient comfort and satisfaction
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments

Day-to-Day

• Perform patient check-in/check-out
• Schedule patient appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Verify insurance
• Register patients/update patient demographics
• Answer the telephone
• Balance monies at day end
• May be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer
• May be required to bill hospital/nursing home charges
